@erilee84 How is it not relevent? The whole point of bringing up Jay Chow is because he spearheads and represents internationally of what Chinese R&B is as a template. I'm using his singing to compare to Sally Yeh's singing, which incidentally led me to my comment.

@CenaSux2007 Sally is a singer. Jay Chow is a song writer. Song writers will always be greater than singers alone. Comparing a singer to a song writer is actually an insult to the song writer.

What happened is the HK commercial music industry stopped doing nothing but covers of good Japanese songs (probably because the licensing became too expensive during the 90s economic downturn) while at the same they are too cheap to invest in local song writing talents.
