2. How the corporation came to be. Originally, corporations were set up to serve the public good. Corporation lawyers gained rights through the US Supreme Court using the 14th Amendment (set up to protect slaves) that gives them the rights of a person. In the last century, the corporation is given more and more rights while people are increasingly stripped of theirs.

There just needs to be a lot more regulations on corporations and its hard because all the politicians are bought off by them.

I disagree; I think that government should have stayed the hell out of private business in the first place. Corporations should NOT have any sort of immunity, the board should be personally liable for any harm the corporation causes, and there should not be special loopholes or subsidies for any of them. I'm no fan of modern corporations, to be sure, but I'm no fan of government control, either. Government=corporations=government.

All Sovereign people need to recognize, reclaim, and declare their Sovereignty of their countries. After that is done they then need to organize, plan, and establish a non-monetary democratic government system that would also be based on rights and full transparency towards the people.

Early joint stock companies weren't corporations. Incorporation by default meant a charter, both in the U.S. and before that in Britain.

I'm wondering why a documentary named, "The Corporation" should cover joint stock companies, when it clearly focuses on 1) Corporations and 2) The modern practices of them.

Wow. Not even trying to get their history right. Look up early joint stock companies on Wikipedia. They existed WAY before industrialization.

Corporations are born trough regulation (read 'special legal statutes and privileges). On the contrary. The legal status of 'corporation' should be abolished. If someone dies because of a faulty product, someone needs to do the time (not get away with a ticket because of corporate status).

Regulation is what makes corporation the giant sharks they are today.
