Hi Im Cache and I'm using a MacPro 2 x 2.8 Ghz Quad - core Intel Xeon, Mac OS Snow Leopard 10.6.4, RAM - 10 GB 800 MHz DDR2 FB-DIMM, DigiDesign 003 Factory, Pro Tools LE 8.0.4, Complete production Toolkit, iLock, BlackMagic Decklink HD Extreme. Check this AVID.
I've created pro tools sessions from .omf files from Final Cut Pro 6.0.6, Im working with video DV NTSC 23.976 720 X 480, I have 12 audio tracks in my pro tools session, at first everything seems to be fine and the playback works and sound perfect, but when i make any change, a fade or plugin process, makes that specific edit blasts, a tremendous white noise explode in the monitor and headphones, all the meters go up to the top, my ears almost bleed, the actor dubbing in my studio throw the headphones and get mad, i cant work like this forever, all my AVID and DigiDesign equipment costs me a lot of money AVID, i need support, I've tried everything, reinstalling pro tools, updates 8.0.3 and later 8.0.4, trashing preferences, also i delete DigiDesign databases folders, delete volume .ddb files, manually and with the Tech support Utility developed by AVID DigiDesign included in the last PT Update 8.0.4, I also tried installing in other computers Mac and Windows, change firewire cables, also i tried to create a new session without .omf, i mean i create a new session, start recording new audio and the white noise comes again to ruins my work and life, this issue doesn't appear in every single session, but appears in many of them, and sometimes in the most important ones, this issue is costing me money and professionalism with my clients, this appears to be a common PT error since earlier versions, there are a lots of forums and threads about this particular topic, i believe since 2001, anyone have any suggestion or at least a temporal solution my deadline its too close, i know that everybody here understands me, we are all in the same business, help me people, AVID DigiDesign reply me, let me know if there's a solution, if didnt exists a real solution yet, let me know either, i need to know how i will proceed with this Pro Tools ERROR, I'm not a happy customer right now.
This is a video of my PT system working badly because of this take a look. Post solutions or comment please.
Now i have solved the problem, it happens when the project files are located on a NOT Mac OS Extended (Journaled) Hard Drive, when i move my entire project to a Mac OS Extended (Journaled) Hard Drive the problem doesnt exist anymore, i dont know why really but it works, i hope this help you all guys.
