When God told Adam an Eve not to eat from the the tree of knowledge of good and evil. He said if they did they would surely die. Jesus sacrifice was the ransom for the evil of mankind. Yes man now dies a phyical death but we continue to live on for ever with Christ through his blood because we do fall short of the glory of God, (Romans 3:22-24) If the boy and the 2 looking over were real christians they would have had a response to Mr. Al arifi and he would not be telling this story.

The mercy of God, the forgiveness of God was expressed in the willingness of his son to be that once-and-for-all blood sacrifice for the sins of all humanity. This is not about the sins of taking an apple which was forbidden. Eating it gave man the knowledge of Good and Evil. Having that knowledge Man chose Evil, to separate himself from the love of God for the love of himself. We have all sinned and come so far short of God's goodness. God gave us the door to reconciliation if we choose to open
