The motor, motor mount and wiring harness from my old washing machine, hacked up and repurposed. The harness has been stripped to just the bare essentials, and the PSC motor is hardwired to run at low speed only - it should be more than enough.

  • Looking like that, yeah it is pretty much just a hazard. The finished product will have properly capped wire connections in moisture-proofed conduit. This was just a test rig to work out the motor control circuit - the original circuit when it was all in the washer was much more complex, and included the door lid switch and many other components that just aren't necessary anymore.

    The motor is a Permanent Split Capacitor type; I need the cap to run it at the desired speed.

  • im not gonna lie that looks like a giant hazard...why do you need a capacitor?
