  • Nice work, Sensei. Hope to get back to Okinawa in the next few years to train and reconnect.

I'm also amused by the negative comments some have made here. One who has studied martial arts for so many years should know better than to openly criticize another style or technique. One thing I always admired about Seidokan was the humble way we go about our training and our respect for other martial arts styles.

  • @nhronin Hello there...nice to hear from you. I'll keep a spot open for you. I don't worry about the negative comments. I've been around doing Karate probably longer than they've been alive!!! LOL! I have very thick skin....Happy New Year! :)))

  • If one uploads a vid, at least it should be in a technical quality, so people trying to impersonate, does not make apparent newby errors ! and yes, I do know ... been practicing Shotokan karate for 35 years now, and have seen a lot :-)

Kihon ippon kumite is a very good means for learning to be in front of an opponent, and also, i think, as kata is, the core of real karate (martial arts).

  • @oleshotokan Good, I been practicing Martial Arts since I was 13, now I'm 52. I'll let you do the math. I've lived in Okinawa for the past 30 years, and have trained with the best Okinawan Sensei's. I've also trained with many Shotokan Instructors. I just had two gentlemen from Scotland this past week train in my Dojo and we had a great time. I also believe in Kata & Kobudo is the core of Karate. I think we are on the same page..but just got off on the wrong foot. Thanks for commenting:)

  • when the woman steps forward to attack, the front foot steps a little backwards...that is what one sees from green belts !!!!!

  • @oleshotokan I guess you should know...Green belt! LOL!

  • @RONBONIX Sir, how did you get to the Okinawa to train with best Okinawan masters? That is my dream also! Are you some kind of American Military Official or have you so much money to make your dreams come true? Could you help me too, please?

  • @DMxNemesis These are very basic techniques....for the beginner. It gives them some to build on until they are able to grasp the higher techniques. One step at a time. You probably know the drill. Thanks for the comment. Have a great day. :)

  • doesnt seem very practical

  • @jeisenlee I'm glad you still remember

the Japanese terms. You get 2 point for that

    See ya!
