From the coming album Reggae Got Soul. LYRICS BELOW. DOWNLOAD SINGLE @ http://highahseekah.bandcamp.com/track/reggae-got-soul-single

"Reggae Got Soul" by Highah Seekah (born in Savanna-La-Mar, Westmoreland, Jamaica). A massive hit song of the same title was first done by Toots and the Maytals, released by Island label in 1976 (four years before the birth of Highah Seekah).

"Reggae Got Soul" Riddim is a traditional reggae riddim album with a number of artists each voicing unique mix-downs of the same rhythm track. The beat is based on a Casio CZ101 bassline reminiscent of 1980's digital dancehall, and is layed over thuggy hip hop drums and punctuated with various skanks and FX. Jason Poras (Jace) and Peter Wade produced the album at their studios in NYC, with some feature guests recorded in Jamaica and Italy. Highah Seekah hails from Westmoreland, Jamaica. His tuff reggae style was recently noticed by the Reggae Festival Guide which named him "Reggae Artist on the Rise" in 2007. Taking the "Reggae Got Soul" riddim's title as his inspiration, Seekah delivers a song of livity and upliftment and sings the praise of good reggae music delivering the proof that Reggae's got soul. With a number of hot songs under his belt and his star on the rise, Highah Seekah has his eye set on higher heights.

LYRICS

Intro

Feecha feecha
Highah Seekah
Feecha (singers and players of instruments)
And this is a story of a rebel music
A higher-level music
The pride and glory
Don't abuse it
A Reggae music you know (it's a world-wide incidence)

Chorus

Reggae emerge at a critical time
Liberation on yo mind
You reveal nuff sign
Radio chart yo climb
Now hearts and mind
Love Rastafari ensign
Studio to stage show
All over the world people know
Say like the hot-got-a-cold And the rock-got-a-roll
Reggae got soul

Verse 1

In a revolutionary manner you've been healing the trauma
A remind the people whe dem froma
That they can achieve what they wanna
Reggae yo really speak truth in a revealing grammar
You give The Most High praises and honor
International places people follow
When the spirit low, yo get it higher like marijuana
Yo say yes we can like Barack Obama

Chorus

Reggae emerge at a critical time
Liberation on yo mind
You reveal nuff sign
Radio chart yo climb
Now hearts and mind
Love Rastafari ensign
Studio to stage show
All over the world people know
Say like the hot-got-a-cold
And the rock-got-a-roll
Reggae got soul

Verse 2

Which other music can match the sum
The good works that you have done
The efforts to overcome
Oppression a Reggae music say fyah bun
Which other music has become
A world-wide phenomena, from Jam Dung
It's like a heart beat like Nyabinghi drum
Reggae give thanks for the day that your birth had come

Chorus

Reggae emerge at a critical time
Liberation on yo mind
You reveal nuff sign
Radio chart yo climb
Now hearts and mind
Love Rastafari ensign
Studio to stage show
All over the world people know
Say like the hot-got-a-cold
And the rock-got-a-roll
Reggae got soul

Verse 3

Agitating, for equal rights and justice for all
Activating, a higher consciousness to heed Jah call
Elevating, the minds and the spirit of the people when they fall
Meditating, the true purpose of this music, recall

Chorus

Reggae emerge at a critical time
Liberation on yo mind
You reveal nuff sign
Radio chart yo climb
Now hearts and mind
Love Rastafari ensign
Studio to stage show
All over the world people know
Say like the hot-got-a-cold
And the rock-got-a-roll
Reggae got soul

Reggae emerge at a critical time
Liberation on yo mind
You reveal nuff sign
Radio chart yo climb
Now hearts and mind
Love Rastafari ensign
Studio to stage show
All over the world people know
Say like the hot-got-a-cold
And the rock-got-a-roll
Reggae got soul
