This video starts out kinda tame as I was just trying to get a handle on things. As it progresses you will see more speed runs, wheelies, and stuff like that.

The setup is an E-Revo with 2x 3s 4000mAH LiPos (6s total). The ESC is Castle Mamba Monster Max and the motor is the 2200KV "castle-neu" motor.

Runtime on grass was roughly 6-7 minutes. Speed, measured by a radar gun, 42mph (and probably faster in reality). End-of-run Temps, battery 100F, motor and ESC both between 120-130F.

  • Are EZRun Brushless Motors good from hobbypartz? And how fast would it be if I put 2 3S Lipos 5000mAh in my E Revo?

  • One of the better cheap knockoffs, but the big problem is efficiency; that's why Castle partnered with Steve Neu to make their 1/8th scale and up motors. There's rarely any shortage of torque and performance for the cheaper motors (as long as they still have a sintered rotor -- most modern motors do), but heat can be a serious problem because the rotor will typically fail around 200F. >60mph on street or >45mph off-road and your runtime might be limited not by battery but motor heat.

  • @AccessAccess I've heard that the setup stays cool because of the fans, but would you recommend this combo?

  • Well if I were to make something like this today, I'd go with an even larger motor like the castle 1717 (if it fits -- check first) or one of the larger 15-size motors if you can still find them. That way maybe the fans wouldn't be as necessary b'cos a fan is one more thing to break.

  • whats the gearing your using? have you had anything go "bad" or break because of the 6s lipo and gearing your using? any upgrades? any recommended upgrades? I want to get 6s lipo for my car and am worrying if it;s worth it.

  • I've had arms break and I've replaced them with better third-party ones they have at most hobby shops (forgot the name but it's pretty well known). I'm also using very low gearing b'cos of the grass. It tops out just a little over 40mph.

  • My HPI Vorza seems faster and more stable than the E-Revo! I'd beat it in a race on a track!
