It's universal, there is no reason that it shouldn't apply to Italian's the same as Americans, and Yes, Loretta is a true star, so many wonderful songs, and she's still recording today, according to her website, she's doing 3 new albums
You sound like how I felt, when I first discovered Loretta, you still have a whole TON of good songs to discover from her, enjoy :-)
