Meet Fantic the baby elephant who is staying with Ludmilla Popova, a zookeeper in Odessa. Fantic was rejected by his mother, so he's staying with the Popova family for Christmas.

This sweet little elephant Fantik, was sold by the Odessa Zoo to Gartner Circus, where he died at age 4 from rickets, caused by improper nutrition. ( info from the elephant database ) . Now it doesn't seem so cute, does it?
