The Great Himalayas

Ladakh is a land like no other. Bounded by two of the worlds mightiest mountain ranges; the Great Himalaya and the Karakoram. Ladakhs remoteness and awesome high-altitude landscape appeal to adventure travelers. So does the fact that Ladakhs Tibetan-style traditions and lifestyles remain firmly entrenched, largely untouched by the western world. Ladakh was a vital link in the ancient Central Asian trade route network. It had minimum contact with the rest of the world until the 20th century.
