cross hatch bus

I am waiting for the traffic lights to change at a cross hatch junction. The cross hatchings are there to prevent stationary traffic from blocking the flow of traffic when the lights change. As I move forward the bus also moves forward jumping the red lamp (which has just turned green in my favour) I stop immdiately, thinking the bus driver was in the wrong. The bus driver had saved my life, as a white car also jumped the lights I would had never stood a chance to stop as the bus was obscuring my view, and the speed at which the car was travelling along with its size would have killed me.
