Like a Refugee with Gary Numan and DaDaDang was another collaboration with Hugh Nicholson from Radio Heart, this song was put together as anthem to displaced peoples of Yugoslavia. This came during relatively low tide as far as Gary's career, Like A Refugee" came after the much-maligned "Machine + Soul", which Gary himself admits was a low point for him artistically and creatively. Like a Refugee this song failed to enter the charts.
I actually like this song & even though the video doesn't do gary justice the fact he was doing this for others then hats off to gary & all those concerned,

I have never heard this.... Outland and Machine & Soul were two albums I never bought... Bad time in my life and never got round to it... I love, Love Isolation but then again, just love Gary Numan. Could never stand the wailling women in the background in his songs , He didnt need them but because It was Gary I put up with them...

This track was a real breath of fresh air after the non-sense of 'Outland' and 'Machine and Soul'.
This should have been a huge hit.
