1969-1978: L'essentiel de la production discographique éthiopienne a été publié en seulement une décade. En tout et pour tout, moins de 500 disques 45 tours simples et une trentaines d'albums 33 tours. Amha Eshèté, créateur du label Amha Records, fut l'instigateur de cette trop brève aventure et l'un des principaux artisans du mouvement moderniste qui agita la scène éthiopienne durant la fin du règne du Négus Haylè Sellasié. En six ans (1969-1975), il publia 250 titres environ. Dès ses premiers enregistrements, avec un goût très sûr, Amha Eshèté fit appel aux meilleurs des musiciens indépendants ou en rupture de ban: Girma Bèyènè, Mulatu Astatqè, Fèqadè Amdè Mesqel, Tesfa Maryam Kidané, Muluqèn Mèllèssè, Mahmoud Ahmed, Sèyfu Yohannès, Tèshomè Meteku, Gètatchèw Kassa, Tilayé Gèbrè...

1969-1978: the main body of Ethiopian records was produced in less than one decade: all in all, just under 500 45s and around 30 LPs. Amha Ashèté, creator of the Amha Records label, was the driving force behind this brief creative burst and one of the main founders of the modernist movement which swept the Erhiopian scene during the end of the rule of the emperor Haile Sellassie. In six years, Amha issued around 250 titles. From his first recordings, Amha Eshèté displayed unerring taste in choosing the best independent or otherwise unattached musicians.

where can i find wetetie mare?? i had it on my ipod and i cant find it anywhere online to listen to (my computer crashed a while back and my itunes was deleted..cannot find it unless i want to download/buy it ...and i just want to listen to it again!) thanks :)
