Google Android 1.5 running on HTC Wizard using wing-linux and linwizard kernel.

Working: Bluetooth, Keyboard, Touchscreen

Works for some people: GSM, GPRS, SMS (ie RIL)

Doesn't work yet: Audio, WiFi, Battery level, Power management

USB works, but we use it for debugging - don't know if it actually works with Android. It should do if they use gadget driver.

For more information go to http://wing-linux.sf.net and http://linwizard.sf.net

  • This is really cool. It will take a while for me to dare trying this on my wizard. I only wish that someone could make a step by step instruction for putting android on the ppc. usually you have to hunt around forums for days and suffer crude remarks from people who ahve been techcrunhing on the forums from day one.n Not easy finding info on a 120 page forumlist. Good work guys! Keep it up :)

  • search google for sourceforge wing-linux, click the first link, and click view all files. Download the wing-linux-0.4pre4-rootfs.cab and wing-linux-0.4pre4-wizard.cab files to your device and then install them, remember to install to your sd card. Then click start, programs, winh linux and then run. Leave the installer so it automatically chooses the defaults, calibrate the display when it tells you to and you're ready to go.
