yeah, he has given it a slight shuffle... but i dont think theres anything wrong with a bossa with a lilt... a lot of jazz players play straight jazz where the triplets becomes 16th's
i'm playing it for the jazz band for my school(on the piano, rhythm and chords) and i am really struggling with it with the fast and complicated notes... what are some tips?
Very nice for somebody that started playing so late(26,right?).I advise now to start doing some work over scales and try to find new harmonic thrills(substitution chords).Go on,man,i can see you love good music.Greetings from Portugal,Joao Galante
(if you have time, please watch my improvisation over this tune- just write "Joao Galante".Thanks!)
Too swing, or more specifically, far too much ragtime/stride and not enough syncopated Brazilian bounce. You're obviously very skilled, however, and have a very nice style.
to much swing, but it`s very good

good, but play a little straighter (don't swing the eighth notes). latin jazz/bossa nova doesn't swing eighth notes
