http://www.premierguitar.com PG's Rebecca Dirks is On Location at NAMM '09 where she goes to to the Dean booth. In this video, we talk with Elliott Rubinson, Dean's CEO, about their latest amp endeavor; the Dime Amp. These amps and combo sets are designed after the legendary sounds and tones of Darrell "Dimebag" Abbott of Pantera/Damageplan fame. With the help of Darrell's long-time tech, Grady Champion and Dean's technicians, they feel these amps will get guitarists as close as possible to his epic tone.

  • Oh I see why we disagree now. Yeah Deans back then were 10 times what they are now. I was talking about Deans these days. Ever since Dean himself left theyve been making really god awful guitars. yeah I have no doubt that Dime's Deans were badass. Its just ever since Dime died, Dean has been making some really sad Signature guitars in his name.

  • @BARKMATTER There NOT EXPLOITING HIM YOU STUPID FUCKS! Rita Haney and Vinnie are all in this shit! Its Remembering the MAn And The Legend He Was. Pull Your Head Outta Your Ass. Dimebag Drew every design theyve come out with on paper and thats what there going by. the only one that wasnt a dime idea was the Dimebonics Dean.

  • Great amp and a really great player doing the demo...I own this head and mainly use the clean side and pedals through it. The clean is super clean but not loud until you crank the gain to 11:00 then it gives a great dirty clean which is perfect for pedals... Great head just turn it on and play, real spring reverb and no burn out tubes to worry about. This one is a no brainer it rocks.

  • @lordcliffton yeah, I did look him up and he's legit, he's got a new album out that he wrote and a bunch of people played on it.

  • @jimistephen OMFG you have got to be fucking kidding me?! Google his stuff NOW! The guy is a living LEGEND. Sadly, he is living with Lou Gehrig's disease & can't even fucking move. Shame. But seriously, you're here on youtube.. look him up-he was great!

    Also, RUK777 is a fucking dimwit. :p

  • I also played this amp at guitar center i blasted the bitch.......a guy walks up watches me play and listens to the tone. I turn the amp off with the intention of buying it. guy comes back with clerk and says"Yeah i want the whole stack". i was crushed....I just recently got it, I play alot of thrash and GREAT FUCK THIS AMP KILLS. this amp matches with the warhead and kranken. AND ITS A SOLID STATE!!!!!! WTF.the clerk also said that just about everyone at guitar center is impressed with this Amp

  • Wow everyones talking shit about this amp. Dean will probably stop "Exploiting Dime" when he is forgotten, which will probably be never, AND the Krankenstein and Randall warhead both sound badass, BUT they cost a ball and scrotum.AND The amps say KranK in BIG LETTERS, and a little tiny dime sig. the warhead says WARHEAD then dime at the bottom. this amp is a tribute amp THE FUCKING THING SAYS DIME for fuckssake.

  • @moneymoney220666 no idea who Jason Becker is.

  • @jimistephen dude u forgot JASON BECKER MAN!!!!!

  • @jimistephen Really the lowest form of any musician is someone who can not listen to anything, even it they don't like it, and tell it's still musically good, and claim one thing better than the other because of it.

  • @jimistephen The term shredder applies to anyone who plays stupidly fast. While Dime did this, the term also applies to Steve Vai, Paul Gilbert, Joe Satraini, Yngwie Malmsteen, Michael Angelo Balto, Joe Bonamassam, Eddie Van Halen. It really comes from the eighties area of over the top playing to the brink on you're instrument.

  • @ruk777 Really? I mean really? Dimebag Darrell got his name because he used pot, not heroin. The people how listen to his music like that music because that's what sounds good to them. I've know a lot more people who listen to country and classic rock and are alcoholics and do drugs than people who listen to metal and do drugs. Actually in the metal scene there is a big straight edge movement.
