This is EXACTLY what I needed. I'm making a platformer so the character moves like mario. I want to use this method because it creates that sense of inertia that I really like. ONE request though, how can I add a run button that changes horizontal speed smoothly? I'm looking for a gradual transition. Right now I HAVE a working run button but it's really sudden and ugly.....

@HGFreak300 :P well it's a good think i speak english because in Canada, Penner means "coolest guy pretty much on earth, genius with Game Maker, everyone wishes they were best friends with this person" (just a few of many examples...)
