AP article republican liars

The Williamsport Sun-Gazette ran an AP story in the paper this morning titled "gop lawmakers spin funding tall tales." It's good to know that republicans in congress are upholding the legal, moral and religious precepts they claim to revere.
They are certainly doing a bang up job honoring the ninth commandment: Thou shall not bear false witness against thy neighbor. Moses would be proud of the republicans in congress who "spin tall tales" instead of bearing false witness.
George Washington is held as an exemplar for telling his father, "I cannot tell a lie," when he was asked about that cherry tree. No doubt George's false teeth would glow with the warmth of his smile when he looked upon the republican members of congress who only "spin tall tales."
I'll bet old Martha Stewart, who went to jail for lying, is relieved that the republicans are only spinning tall tales.
Calling a pile of bull leavings a "meadow muffin" doesn't make it fit to eat. Calling republican prevarications "tall tales," doesn't make their lies any less dishonest.
When John Dickinson wanted the word "tyrant" removed from the Declaration of Independence in 1776, Thomas Jefferson demurred. He said, "The king is a tyrant whether we say so or not. We might as well say so.'
In the spirit of Thomas Jefferson, George Washington, Moses and all Americans who hold the truth to be important, let's call the republicans liars. They are liars whether we call them that or not. We might as well be honest and call them what they are.
