This is an Escort 8500 refurb that I bought on eBay. I am on the Lake Pontchartrain Causeway Bridge that goes from Mandeville to New Orleans in Louisiana. It is 24 miles long and there are crossovers about every 3.5 miles in case you breakdown or have to turn around. I am using a suction cup mount on my windshield to hold up an older heavier video camera that is probably about 12 years old so there is some shaking because of the weight.

No, it is not fine to ride on the left if there is room on the right to pass. Louisiana law RS 32:71 "Upon all roadways of sufficient width a vehicle shall be driven upon the right half of the roadway." If you aren't passing anybody, get out of the left lane. If people are passing you on the right, you are the idiot that is breaking the law.
