Hi Phil! Why didn't you write an article next to pencil and pen? in the sentence I can write with pencil or pen. Was there a mistake or not?

@denis43545 both ways are correct. 'The' pen is for a specific pen.

@denis43545 yes it's correct. Also, "I can use paint" or "I can use the paint (when talking about specific paint I have)"...... More examples: I bought wood, I have carpet, I saw grass, I like blue, etc.
