What You Don't Know: Mission to the Zoo - Chapter 10!!!

Nick: (sets down his guitar shaking his head)
Kevin: I'm sorry Mr. Brenton but I think I speak for all of us when I say no thank you.
Phil: Listen. I know that doing this again may seem like a burden but we need your help.
Kevin: Frankie, why don't you go upstairs and play with your new game boy.
Frankie: Ok. (goes upstairs)
Phil: You all are our best junior operatives and we believe that you can do it.
Jessi: Do what? Save the world?
Nick: That isn't exactly the easiest task you know?
Phil: I know but please just listen.
Kevin: (sits down in chair) Listening.
Phil: Some group is organizing a lab.
Jessi: A lab for what?
Phil: We believe that they are organizing a lab to make a kind of injection that will destroy mankind.
Nick: Are you serious right now? (rubbing his temples)
Phil: I know it sounds ridiculous.
Kevin: What "group" is doing this?
Phil: We aren't sure. We call it the "Zoo" because they are all dressed up in animal costumes.
Joe: Wait. Animal costumes?
Phil: Yes.
Nick: This just keeps getting better and better.
Phil: I know that you don't want to but the fate of the world, of mankind, is in your hands.
(they all sit there thinking)
Phil: So what do you say.
Joe: Well Jessi, what do you think?
Jessi: (looks around at everyone for a second) I don't think so. That was too dangerous the first time and now that I have a choice, I'm going to say no. My family needs me here.
Joe: Kevin?
Kevin: Sorry. Like Jessi, since I am not being forced and shoved out a window, I think I am going to say no. That mission tore family and friends apart and almost killed us. It makes everyone the bad guy and you can't even trust the ones you love. So no. My answer is no.
Joe: Nick?
Nick: (shaking his head) No. The guilt and lies are awful. Besides, last time I.... (cuts himself off). I'm done with that stuff. Sorry.
Kevin: What about you Joe?
Joe: Sorry Mr. Benton. I agreed to do the smaller missions and those are dangerous enough. And also we are a team and if they don't go, I don't go.
Phil: So I see you have made up your minds.
(they all nod in agreement)
Kevin: We are sure you will find some excellent agents.
Phil: Alright then. Thank you for your time. (leaves)

(next morning at school)
Nick: (walks into the classroom and spots Meghan, the girl he is crushing on he goes and sits in the seat next to her) Hey Meg. What's up?
Meghan: Oh nothing really. How about you?
Nick: Some crazy stuff actually.
Meghan: Oh really? Is everything ok?
Nick: Well (thinks for a second) It's nothing.
Meghan: Are you sure? Because I'm here if you need to talk. (putting her hand on his)
Nick: Yeah I'm sure. Thanks.
Teacher: Alright students, quiet down. We have a lot to cover today.
(after class)
Meghan: So Nick, are you going to the big dance this weekend?
Nick: Probably not.
Meghan: Oh. (holding her folder closer to her chest and looks down)
Nick: (seeing her reaction) Hey Meg, would you like to-
Announcer: Would Nicholas Jonas and Jessica Marklay please come to the front office. Nicholas Jonas and Jessica Marklay to the office.
Nick: Really?
Meghan: It's ok. I'll see you later. Bye.
Nick: Bye. (goes to the office and sees Joe walking in) Hey Joe.
Joe: (turns around) Oh hey Nick.
Nick: So why do they need us?
Joe: I don't know. They called me and told me to come to the school. (shrugs)
(they walk into the room)
Kevin: (standing inside impatiently)
Joe: Hey Kev.
Kevin: Hey guys. Does this seem familiar to you?
Nick: Pff yeah. Only too familiar.
Joe: So do you know why they want us?
Kevin: No but I do know that I have a lunch date with Dani and I really don't want to be late.
Nick: Don't worry. We won't be here for long.
???: Hello boys.
