@INSULTINGKLOWN iFPSClamp=60 is your friend :-)
-
@trickmast Fuck, haha.
You were right about Skyrim having stuttering.
It was easy to fix it though, so no problem.
-
@INSULTINGKLOWN I doubt it's a new engine. I know they say that but I mean just look at it.
-
@trickmast I didn't get any stuttering on New Vegas.
I really doubt Skyrim will have a stuttering problem, with its new engine and all.
-
@INSULTINGKLOWN No they did not fix it in New Vegas, It's identical across all their games and I'm expecting it for Skyrim too. It's pitiful.
-
@Filnizer yeah, oblivion has stutter problems because of the engine it runs on. Fallout 3 has some stuttering as well. They fixed it in New Vegas though.

It's just an occasional stutter. Imagine having constant lag unless you turn on litebrite. :P And my computer isn't half bad, it should run it with little to no lag. I think it's probably heat. Who was the idiot who invented the vents on the bottom where your leg is?

Exactly the same for me on my 5870 crossfire. The engine bethesda use is really badly optimized for high end GPU's. Fallout 3 is the same.

i have it for all games except l4d its annoying in fps games when ur fighting ur start stuttering

Yeah the fix for Oblivion stuttering, (also called frameskip or microlag) is to go to your Oblivion.ini file and change 'iFPSClamp=0' to 'iFPSClamp=60'. This should stop the problem, however you need a computer which can run Oblivion at 60fps solid, otherwise when it drops below 60fps the game will go into slow motion to keep the fps at 60.
I have an 8800GTX, 2gigs of 500Mhz DDR and an Athlon 64 X2 running at 2.63Ghz.
This was recorded with texture mods but for some reason the game has always run like that for me.
Oh, and hi Magus. :p
