He understook an unauthorised bombing mission in England when he was a teenager but he was imprisoned by the Irish government for anti-free state activities, he was a hard core republican. its a great song though.
this song brings a tear to my eye i love it reminds me of a famous irish man i lived with called ian larkin big as a house strong as a bear used to sing it after a few pints of stout. what a boy he was.
