This powerful training tool can make you a better sailor and help you win races. It comes loaded with a Speedometer and Compass. If you want more functionality, you can download and install the free Velocitek Control Center Windows application. The Velocitek Control Center allows you to enable the SC-1's advanced modes and download GPS data from your SC-1. These advanced modes include a Tactical Compass, Velocity Made Good (VMG), Timer, Start Line Proximity, and Data Logger. The SC-1 also alows for 40+ hours of GPS data to be stored and is compatible with Kattack, GPS Action Replay and Google Earth
With the advanced modes any two modes can be displayed simultaneously:
Speedometer
Maximum speed recall
Best 10-second average speed recall

Adjustable damping
Super-accurate GPS compass shows the direction you are actually moving in rather than where your bow is pointed—great for sailing in current
GPS compass will give accurate readings with the device mounted in any orientation
Programmable artificial declination for direct comparison with a magnetic compass
Tactical Compass
Displays your heading relative to the wind direction
Makes wind shifts easy to identify

19 minute countdown sequences available

Loud audible signal
Start Line Proximity

Come on, even when he is holding the device into the camera (i.e. when the device is hardly moving) the speed is jumping around between 0.1 and 0.4 knots. Besides, no GPS device in the world, not even the ones who use the doppler-effect, could detect such minor movements.

While he is standing still, he is gesturing with the device the entire time. 0.4 knots is 8 inches per second, he is doing that easy.

Even though the guy is standing still, his "Velocitec" GPS device shows a boatspeed between 0.1 and 0.4 knots.
0.1 knots means 202,5 yards (185,2 meter) per hour.
0.4 knots means 810 yards (740,8 meter) per hour.
For a sailor, this is a lot.
---> This thing is inaccurate - a total FAIL.
(1 knot = 1 nautical mile per hour = 1852 meter per hour = 2025 yards per hour)
