This is a quick short tribute, because the Banzai Girls are still relatively new (the publisher, Arcana Comics, has only been publishing since 2004). Banzai Girl is Jinky Coronado, who, incidentally, is the model, writer, and co-artist for the series. In the stories so far, Jinky is a sexy Asian schoolgirl who faces daily struggles with school, romance, and grades, then goes home and has nightmares about being a princess and a freedom fighter in some peculiar future. The night dreams lead to adventures that affect her real life. Music is "Deep Forest," traditional Japanese music.
I think it's published first in Jinky Coronado's homeland, then only recently by an American publisher. I visited Jinky's website, but can't really get the full info there.

Now for an American comic this is really pushing the line.
On the other hand if this was a Manga (japanese comic) it would be every day..
This one looks cute. I like the music too, and it dosen't seem out of place since it is called Banzi..

Actually, I think the Banzai Girls are from the Philippines, but banzai always makes me think Japan.
