Back in time now to yet another of those 'musty dusties' (or is it 'dusty musties'?). This one is yet another quickie that I scratched down the 'lyrics'
to in no time at all. Originally featured on my 3rd Sonet album, "Hot Licks & Fancy Tricks", but this is yet another alternative version that's never
been released. In fact, it's the very first and original demo version I did of it (that's probably why the vocal is pretty low in volume, as I usually did
any 'serious' tracks by doing the vocal first and then adding the rest, all by using the good ole 'sound-on-sound' technique, which eventually left
the vocal in the 'background' when the track was finished). As far as the instruments used, there's one funny thing that kinda sticks out here. If
you listen close enough you can clearly hear a pretty effective...accordian (!) in the rhythm section, rockin' away like you ain't heard nuthin' yet!
Gosh, those were the days of invention, ha, ha! And in case you think the solos are carried out by a keyboard of some sort..you're wrong! It's
most likely my Gretsch (although I'm not 100% sure here) going bananas through an Electro-Harmonix pitch transposer!! I'll do absolutely
anything sometime to change things around and screw things up, ha, ha, just to be original! Everyone should know by now that I absolutely
HATE the copy cat syndrom, as used for instance to hysterical proportions when it comes to Elvis Las Vegas stuff!! I mean, when you already
got the original nice and handy wherever you look, what's the point in trying to cover it note for note??!! There must be millions of Elvis impersonators out there trying to earn a buck while they're most likely than not just going nowhere fast!! Total lack of originality, if you ask me (not to
mention a total waste of time!). But, there's obviously a market out there for 'impersonal' (lol!) stuff like this, so live and let live! Over to some ORIGINAL stuff then for a change, an accordian drenched "Bonnie Lee" with a cool chick video to boot. Hang on... P.S.
