Without Purpose - An Original Poem by Benny Bowden

Yesterday, I was watching some YouTube videos and was inspired by some poems I saw performed by Levi the Poet and George Watsky. That inspiration grew until I had words flowing through my brain that just had to be put down on paper. This is the result:

Without Purpose by Benny Bowden

I believe that sometimes
The sunrise is more beautiful
If I watch it through someone's eyes
other than mine.
Because often times I am blinded
By him. By sin. Again and Again.
And when I finally get past his devilish grin,
I find that behind my glassy eyes,
Lies someone who is wise.
Someone who is filled with life.
But sadly, no THANKFULLY,
It's not a life of my own.
It's a life controlled by
One who sits on a high Throne.
This Throne is not here, NO!
It's located above!
And on it sits He who wrote the definition of Love.
So I would much rather,
Beyond a shadow of ten thousand doubts,
Have my life orchestrated
By Him... Instead of sin,
Which clouds the thoughts and minds
Of the most creative,
The most loving,
Most talented,
Most dedicated,
Most innocent,
Most famous,
Most hated,
Most beautiful,
Most intelligent,
Most joyful,
Most social,
Most God-fearing human beings on this planet!
So the next time
That I decide to watch a sunrise,
I'll do it with my own eyes,
Open wide.
So that I can appreciate the creation of
The Most High.
And I pray that one day
I will witness Him in the sky.
That I'll see Him
Silence the cries that
Bellow from the broken, the beaten, and torn.
That I'll see compassion
Unlike anything seen before.
But until that day
I'll be waiting. Impatiently.
And I'll chase the dreams
That run hastily
Through my mind at high paced speeds.
And I also pray that these dreams
Are meant to be.
That they are seamlessly intertwined with God's plan for me.
But if not,
I know that greater things
Are in the works.
That even the dirt on my shirt
Is NOT Without Purpose.

This is really really good but add more emotion when you preform it. there are so many unexpressed emotions here that you need to let out. but it is good.
