this is so diffrent from the joni im used to.... im used to the 70's "i could drink a case of you" joni.... im not sure if i dig this?
-
I sort of like the album rock sound of this, it definetly fits the times.

I love the Album and this song by Joni Mitchell. I used to listen to this song a lot when I was younger. I share the same Birthday with Joni Mitchell - November 7th.
Thank you for posting this video.

yeah but you have to give a nod to her group that toured with her for this album. Unreal musicians. And it was also the 80's....imagine if people like Janis or Jimi had made it to that era...there wouldn't be enough neon pink and shoulder pads for the BOTH of them! If you ask me, the eighties PERIOD were far removed from anything else in history.
-
Yeah, her eighties stuff lyrically was still there for the most part, but the sound was way too extravagant and over-produced. I mean the song 'Solid Love' on this album, is so far removed from Joni, i could've laughed. It wasnt Joni either, everyone was going Electric crazy in the 80's, Young, Dylan, etc.

Pretty good album, not one of her best. "Ladies Man" and "Chinese Cafe" are the standouts. It wasn't until "Turbulent Indigo" that Joni really got her mojo going again, although "Night Ride Home" was better than anything she did in the 80's.
