The bass player is acting crazy because the lead singer , Rivers, felt uncomfortable singing with his gimp leg. He wanted the other members to jump around and act crazy to take the focus off of him. He states as much in his book, the Pinkerton Diaries.

I was 11 when this aired. Year after Cobain died and grunge was being replaced with "light alternative" music. My bro. and I made a compilation of cool bands live performances on VHS tape. This was first on the tape. Back then we had "In Concert" a program that had random bands. Nirvana unplugged was 2nd on our tape along Soundgarden. Also Throneberry was on that episode. That band never made it big, but they were good. No Doubt was also on In Concert breaking in
