John Sinclair, born 1941 in Flint, Michigan is poet, blues and jazz historian, former manager of the MC5, radio host, and political activist. From beginnings as a small-town rock'n'roll fanatic and teenage disc jockey he went on to become a cultural revolutionary, pioneer of marijuana activism, radical leader and political prisoner by the end of the 1960s. Sinclair continues his poetry, radio presenting and activism today.
