@popodavo actually it is called "the kissing disease" albeit colloquially, the formal name however isn't mononucleosis, its EBV Infectious Mononucleosis. or CMV infectious mononucleosis (Cytomegalovirus)

its not called "the kissing disease," its called mononucleosis. It is informally nicknamed the kissing disease based on the fact that the majority of teens get it through transfer of saliva. It can be communicated through any bodily fluid; semen, vaginal fluids, blood, and saliva. Because of the fact that Epstein-Barr virus doesnt cause mono at a younger age (it presents as a mild cold), it is most prominent in teens, who tend to get it
