This is a WeatherSTAR 4000 emulator video I recorded to show weather conditions from Love Field in Dallas, Texas on March 18, 2008 at 9:30 AM Central Daylight Time.
PLEASE NOTE: Since I'm in the Eastern Time Zone, the time you see displayed in the emulator video clip was recorded from my location. The time of this weather report is still correct, but subtract one hour for Central Daylight Time.
As anticipated for at least a few days, showers and heavy thunderstorms finally made their way into the Dallas-Fort Worth area during the morning hours as a strong storm system made its way across the nation's heartland. A deepening trough in the southwestern portion of the United States slowly moved into the eastern half Texas with Gulf of Mexico moisture pumping into the region from the south. This combination led to plenty of thunderstorm activity in the western half of the Metroplex and spread east into Dallas at the time of this weather report.
Temperatures had already fallen from the previous day and would be a bit below normal by the evening rush hour. Peak readings were expected to be near normal the following day, but the threat of thunderstorms wasn't expected to cease until the following night.
A Flash Flood Watch had been re-issued through Wednesday morning while an Urban and Small Stream Flood Advisory was in effect for Dallas and Fort Worth until 12:15 PM Central Daylight Time.
This video was created for personal entertainment use only (meaning not for any commercial broadcast that would violate copyright law). Downloading and reposting this video on YouTube or any other video sharing web site is not permitted. All images (except for the regional radar map itself) are emulated in appearance to resemble graphically what the local forecast segments looked like on The Weather Channel during primarily the 1990s.
I completely forgot about doing that when I created this one and a few others. I adjusted the time for at least a couple of new videos since you made your suggestion and hopefully I won't forget again. Thanks for the heads up.
