Both fireplaces lit and trying to heat up the house on a cold and snowy winters evening. The room was originally seperated by a wall with access from the hallway(behind me). One room for living in downstairs and an upstairs bedroom per family. A mirror image exists on the other side of the property. There would have been another cooking range where the franklin type woodburner is now sited but this has long since been removed.
The range is only partly functional, the left hand side features a top loading bread oven but unfortunately rust has eaten away at the inside lining and this can no longer be used. The right hand side oven is accesed by a front opening door and has a steel shelf fitted. It also features a trivet which swivels over the fire and allows for the heating of pans or usually a kettle.
The danes (Dana - black & Mungo - harli) are fat and lazy and dont help with bringing in the firewood....
