i have a crashed 2006 chevy silverado with a 5.3 vortec engine, sooo im thinking if i buy a c10 ( 80's model) you think it will fit right up? i have the engine and tranny with all the wiring harness and such...what do you think?

@fenderbass15 I think it would work nicely but it won't be a direct fit you'll have to do a few things to get it the motor in. Like either notch the front crossmember or reshape the oil pan to clear it and move the tranny crossmember to get the mounts to line up. It'll take some work but if you like the older chevy's and have some patients it will be well worth it inthe end. I've been wanting to do the swap in a c-10 myself.

@SouthernPride145 I doubt if I'd ever sell it. I've got A LOT of time and money in it and I'm kinda attached to it. So I don't think I could ever part with it.

im putting a 5.3 in my 91. Did you use your stock trans and transfer case? I am worried about everything fitting.

@hilevel81 yeah I used my stock trans and transfer case. I had to order a flex plate and a crankshaft bushing from advance adapters. All the bell housing holes will line up except the top driver sides bolt hole, but I did have to move the them both forward 2 1/2 inches and then lengthen the rear driveshaft. You'll prolly want to get the motor mount adapter plate too. If you need anything else let me know...... You should post a video of your truck too.
