Tomorrow, January 18th, 2012, will be the largest internet protest in history. Thousands of sites across the internet, including some of the biggest in the world, will be blacking out and directing people to contact Congress to kill the web censorship bill, SOPA and PIPA.

In just 7 days, the Senate will vote on forever altering the free and open internet by instituting a new regime of extra-judicial, corporate-led website takedowns. This is a fundamental fight about who has power in society -- the people with the means to communicate freely or the governments and corporations that feel threatened.

It really blows my mind how the government feels that they can take away our rights. If this gets passed then I'll lose all hope in the sanity of this country.

I'm afraid of what SOPA will mean to the internet as we know it. It will no longer be a place to freely communicate, express ourselves and learn but a place that is heavily controlled and oppressed. It's a scary thought to think of a web blackout becoming a permanent reality.

How is this even possible? The endgame is to dismantle the global means of communicating an idea quickly and efficiently. The people that educate themselves are not enemies... they are a threat to all governments. If they do this we need to rise up. We pay them outrageous amounts of money to suppress us and make us feel safe and passive. Its going to be too late to stop this if we wait any longer. Suggestion...
