Love to listen Pt. Bhimsen Joshi. This "thumri" was written by Wajid Ali Shah who was the last Nawab of Lucknow. He became Avadh's Nawab when he was 23 years old. Lord Del Housie has declared Lucknow a Khalsa state and imprisoned Nawab Wajid Ali Shah for 31 years in Culcutta. He had a deep love for Lucknow and before leaving Lucknow he wrote this "Thumri" in raag Bhairvi....as far as I know....Thanks for such a Historic collection Khan Sahab.
