btw.. I am german and I do appreciate that the USA and the Russians got ride of Hitler and his fellowers. Eventhough that my grandpa was a bad guy. there is no excuse to what we were doing back than. But we have learned from our history - other countries didn't...

..and there's always some weenie brit who whines about it. What Americans resent is the fact that Europe couldn't control Hitler; Europe (including England) bent over and took it in the rear-end smiling...and those Americans boys you speak of (including my father and three uncles, one of whom got killed in Italy) had to interrupt their lives and pay for your kicking the can down the block. Hmm, I don't really pick up on much of an accent, but he grew up in Ohio, and then lived in NY the rest of his life (He was the voice of the NY Times on WQXR for roughly 40 years after the war), so the accent could be either.
