It is said that Lord Krishna enchants all the worlds, but He himself is enchanted and controlled by Radha's love. Krishna cannot be known as He is through the Vedas, only through bhakti, pure loving devotion.

Srimati Radha-rani is the pleasure potency of the Lord and the embodiment of all the spiritual qualities that Sri Krishna is attracted to. Therefore, She is the perfect devotee, and in pleasing Her, we can easily please Sri Krishna.

Radha is therefore the Supreme Goddess. In fact She is so important in Krishna Consciousness, that She is always worshiped together with the Lord and devotees are encouraged to turn to Her if they want to please Lord Krishna. The word 'Hare' in Hare Krishna refers to Her.

Please enjoy this bhajan 'Jaya Radha' by Jai Uttal.

Jaya Radhe Shyam!
All Glories to Srimati Radharani!

Radhashtami is the holy day of appearance of Srimati Radharani, the consort of Lord Krishna. Radhashtami is celebrated on the eighth day (ashtami) in the month of Bhadrapada (August- September). It falls exactly 15 days after Krishnashtami (Janamastami), the birthday celebrations of Lord Krishna.
