@R3dTigerM40A3 Having earned a black belt in hapkido, I tend to agree based on the added offensive tactics taught, but the consistency of quality instruction is more prevalent in aikido. Aikido may have the same techniques, but I like the way they teach them better. It's more about form than ego and force.

@ronin752 Note that this was demonstrated as a control technique. What I love about the 'softer' styles, is that they can always elevate the level of response from the same starting point. This technique can be altered to be used as an elbow break, a body drop throw, or a hip throw, as well as several other options omitted for clarity.
