Decoy, you obviously don't realise what stage combat is about.

Stage combat is to put up a fight for theatrical display. WITHOUT causing harm to the performers. It's meant to be entertaining for an audience. It is NOT meant to hurt or kill anyone.

Yes, in a real fight twirly moves and ballet like spins are probably the worst moves you can do. But luckily, what you see is stage combat. NOT a real fight.

Go look up some sparring video's if real combat is what you are looking for.

Why do stage combat? Because real combat is too unpredictable and would end in seconds and wont be as entertaining as an stage fight.

You do realise they go to European Medieval Arts groups all over the world to teach right?

Grrr... I HAVE seen their other crap (I said so above... "every single one of their videos is this same garbage").

I KNOW who AMEK is and I'm saying that they do absolute crap.

NONE of what they do is Martial Art... there's nothing "Martial" about what they do. It is ALL just twirling and flailing.

PLUS: Why do they feel a need to make up "stage" combat when the real stuff is FAR more exciting and engaging than this farcical "stage" crap they come up with. Just give us real HEMA, not crap.

It is, yet the AMEK doesn't stand for swordfighting, its stands for the academy which teaches it.

Just go to their site, if you're comparing stage fights to personal insults then I suggest you stop watching any movie.

This is an STAGE fight, stop taking it as an insult and cry about it, these men are highly skilled in the art but are simply shooting this for a TV SCENE! Just look for AMEK spar to see them sparring somewhere.

Excuse me, but "European Medieval Swordfighting" IS a martial art, when it's DONE RIGHT. The name is "swordFIGHTING", not prancing around like idiots.

This is NOT how my noble ancestors fought and it is a personal affront to me to see this garbage.

If you were Native American, you would be offended by people hopping around chanting "Ai ai ai ai ai!" acting like an "Indian". It is racially insensitive. Right?

Same thing applies here. This is just as much of a mockery of my heritage.
