Sunrise Centre "Chef Off" with Chef Michael Smith

Chef Michael Smith attended a brand new fundraising event in support of Sunrise Therapeutic Riding & Learning Centre on June 26, 2011, at the Sunrise farm.

"The Great Local Food Chef - Off" was a resounding success and included many local chefs in a gourmet food competition Local farmers from the new Aberfoyle Farmer's Market, provided vegetables and meat for the chefs to use in their gourmet creations. The event was the brainchild of Ingrid Von Cube of Appetizingly Yours.

Chef Michael welcomed all guests upon arrival. Sunrise riders delighted guests with two musical rides before the meal and Chef Michael presented them with ribbons.

A live and silent auction raised additional funds for children with disabilities.

Chef Michael attended a "Meet & Mingle" the evening before the big event at the home of Bill and Donna Harrison's in Puslinch.

Close to $70,000 was raised for this local charity that has served our local communities for the past 29 years.
