  • Is that a hydor theo heater you're using? I'm currently setting up a tropical BiOrb as it was given to me by a friend, but have no instructions for the heater. When i looked it up online it said fully submersible but i haven't been able to bring myself to put the top bit in with the wire in case I'm wrong! But it looks like yours is fully in, so thought I'd check with you :) hope you don't mind.

    Lovely tank by the way!

  • lol @ how much water is in that biorb

  • i know you probably asked this two years ago but if you're still having that problem, I also had the problem too. what i do is dip a toothpick into water to make it wet and then stick the toothpick into my flake food and then the flakes stick to the toothpick. after that i dip the toothpick into the water and the flakes dont float anymore, they sink. and all my fish get food. hope that helped!

  • If you have just a plain old halogen light you have filled your tank far too much you are suppose to leave a certain amount inches of water free so the light works properly,,,your halogen light will not be working for long..

  • I just got 2 of those, 5 guppies and 2 corie fish! :)

  • Thta's just the way it works in a tank, so long as they're not showing any signs of ill health I wouldn't worry

  • relaxed ='D

  • hi i have 2 barbs 2 tetras 2 guppies and 2 swordtails.when i feed the fish the guppies and swordtails go to the top and eat but the others wait for the food so sink and end up sometimes eating nothing...can sum1 giv advise.thnx

  • Unfortunately I can't keep anemones in the biorb as they need an extremely strong flow of water through the tank and specialised lighting that the biorb can't provide :( It is a great deal of work to maintain a saltwater tank. However the biorb simplifies it and makes it a lot easier. If your biorb is your first tank then I wouldn't recommend setting it up as a marine tank yet, you'll need some experience keeping freshwater fish first. Hope this helps :)

  • i watched your video, did you have live sea enenimies in it?....and is it a lot of work to keep a salt water tank?
