In this segment of Hippy Gourmet TV, our guest host Mike C. meets up with William and David of VegRev in Oakland, California. VegRev is a company that converts diesel cars, trucks and buses to run on used Vegetable Oil! Unlike bio-diesel, which actually takes just as much energy to produce as it gives back, and is really a petroleum supplement - Veggie Oil is 100% sustainable and comes from used cooking oil from restaurant deep fryers! Veggie Oil burns cleaner and has the added benefit of giving off a lovely French Fry, or Egg Roll fragrance as it drives by!

  • and when it gets cold it turns to lard in your tank

  • The not too distant future:

Welcome to McDonald's, may I take your order? Fill 'er up, please!

Would you like fries with that? Anything to drink?

  • The only thing I see is the local government crying for taxes because it bypasses gas station tax collection. Other then that as long as resturants operate then I see endless oil.

  • Where did you get the statistic that 90 percent of bio diesel is made from raw unused vegetable oil? I am a Biological and Agricultutral Engineering student focused primarily on bio fuel production. Some of my research includes stalks and other inedible parts of crops and even the cultivation of inedible plants that can be converted to diesel. It may not be case that bio diesel production will inflate crop prices.

  • I liked your video very much.

  • I liked your video very much.

  • one thing though is on newer diesels you need to change some more things likes fuel hoses because the svo is a good cleaner and can deslove the hoses on the inside plus on the newer ones ill you my ford for example its a 96 powerstroke the injectors wont like to run on svo for long besides you will need one hell of a filter but if you have a indirect injection like the 82-95 ford diesels it will burn it all day. plus when you run it no mater the year it will clean all the trask out your tank.

  • One of the better videos on WVO on the web.

    Clear, concise and entertaining.

  • Love IT!!! California needs to invest more in Green Tech!!! Prop 23 is down in the polls, but the Yes on 23 campaign just got a new influx of hot, anonymous cash, so we'll need to fend them off in the home stretch to Election Day.

Hit me back if you'd like to talk Prop 23. We're coming out with a bunch of great No on Prop 23 videos soon!

  • used cooking oil is actually one of many post consumer resources that we mix together then call it waste or trash ...thank you for developing a method for reusing oil ...for finding value essentially eliminating w....or t......perhaps it is time to think about trading fairly in these marketable post consumer products

  • @hippygourmet better yet when you harvest your wvo don't get the hard fats. and don't run svo. it's only a step or two more to make biodiesel which is far superior for your vehicles lifespan. svo is horrible for your engine.

  • Loved this video!

  • "Fuel reassignment surgery"

    That's art.
