@JoeytheHDK No it was the same weekend, I have both races on tape, during the red flag for the Allison crash they showed the highlights for this event that was the day before. They also explain the Geoff was a former volunteer firefighter so he knew what to do.

It was not.
The Allison incident took place in May of '87, during the Winston 500. This took place in July, during Talladega DieHard 500 weekend.
