Today i have spend most of the day trying to fix the woes that seem to plaque this unknown radio! There seems to be a bad AM MOD RF VOLTAGE switch in the rig, there are 3 that controls AM MOD, when this part fails the AM MODULATION and ROGER BEEP does not function, but on FM and SSB the beep and modulation functions properly but with NO RF POWER, in adding to this the 13Vdc does not show across the DRIVER or FINAL transistors causing them not to function hence the reason why there is NO RF OUTPUT!.

I intend to add a open tuning, frequency counter add-on based on the frequency hookup in the schematic, the radio has also been converted from 10m and CB down too the 12meter amateur band! 24.890 - 24.990mhz

The sega continues..

  • I notice that in a lot of old cb radios and the like, the shielding for the final amplifiers leave a lot to be desired.I have an old Realistic TRC 451 and the only shielding is that piece of circuit board that is held with the 3 clips in front of the finals.73,great video,Don,VO1XH
