"no description available" i'll say.

@johnman59 what was being said there is that we would all be happier if people were to stop denigrating others on the basis of some xenophobic and unimaginative lowest-common-denominator standard. That's not the stuff of dissertation, but it is central to living in kindness and understanding.

@mollyandbenb Wow. Talk about elementary-level. Did you READ what you wrote? This is the Shaggs, not your Doctoral Dissertation.

@thelostandforgotten LOl you couldn't be more correct!

This is by far the best post-neo-psychedelic proto-grunge alternative ambient pre-trance/trip-hop album of 1969.
That's an inarguable fact.
Respect it, fools.

to make fun of people or their art in order to reinforce one's own feeling of superiority (however intangible) is to perpetuate the elementary-level consciousness of popular culture. the shaggs are not some ubiquitous force of mediocrity that we hear in grocery stores/offices everywhere; they are little known and heard less. they deserve your respect. (btw, the accents [rural southern new hampshire] that you hear are now disappearing, if they've not already been subsumed by wal-mart homogeneity.
I am really impressed by how much they can not listen to eachother at all.... the guitar and drums seem like they are being played on different planets. I'm pretty sure myself and many other muscians would struggle to reproduce this artwork. This the greatest band ever.

see, I don't really think they need to be some kind of geniuses in order for this music to be enjoyable. I don't really think it matters if the sound came intentionally or not.
listening to this kinda reminds me of that thing they say, where the brain only needs the first and last letters to be in the correct order in order to recognize them. It's like my ears just start filling in all the blanks to Shaggs songs to make normal sounding ones.
