Aeolosoma from boggy land at end of Fox beach Staten Island. The rounded pad is above and infront of the mouth which can be seen as a dark spot. Oligochaete means "few Setae" which can be seen as the stiff hairs at the segment parts of the worm This as contrasted by Polychaete many setae

  • Weird. I took a class where we had to collect, identify and preserve polychaetes, but I didn't get to see any behavior before they were jarred.
