Ariel and Hercules: Forbidden Love

The Little Mermaid and Hercules are two of my favourite animated movies ever, and as much as I ship Ariel/Eric and Hercules/Megara, it doesn't hurt to jump on the Ariel/Hercules ship every so often. (They make such a cute couple!)

So what's with the forbidden love thing? Well you see, I love Greek mythology, and one day when I was drawing up the family tree of the Second Generation (just to make sure my time was well-spent, and indeed it was), I realised, straying off the mythologically correct path, Ariel and Hercules are related. In fact, Ariel would be Hercules's niece, and Hercules Ariel's uncle, so to speak.

going by the chart you posted...herc and triton were cousins not brothers so herc would not be ariels uncle...but rather a cousin, but the video is cute

@fantabulousstargirl Was that Poseidon officially classified as a god, or was he just called Poseidon the Mer-king? Because Ariel's mother's name is Athena, and she is most definitely a mortal mermaid.

Besides, the TV series are never canon, otherwise Hercules would have known Hades, Pain and Panic before he met them in the movie and Ariel would have met Flounder before she met him in TLM3 Ariel's Beginning.

Ah, red-heads in love. I think I like this pairing better than the originals. Well, Eric/Ariel at least--I've always had a bit of a problem with the falling in love at first sight/sound thing at ages 16 and +20.

Also, where does it say Triton is the son of the god Poseidon? And anyway, Disney never followed the original familial connections anyway, or Hera would hate Hercules and Zeus would be a slut.

Uh...this wouldn't work. Reasons...they've never interacted with each other (save for probably House of Mouse, i've forgotten if they ever have on that...not that that show is even considered canon...), plus the "possible" relation thing (dude, that's just ick! xP), plus the fact they already have great significant others in Eric and Megara (and I happen to love Meg, she's awesome!).

@campbrdway triton is poseidon's son in the tv show so that makes them cousins. and since triton is ariel's father then herc and ariel are cousins LOL
