It could be a little risky.... try this tip on an other piece painted the same way and colors with the GW product... then go over the test model with a matt varnish spray. we do this at work on wood trim if the wood is to shiny. then mask off say the sword or back of the leg the hand only and if it doesnt look right then you will only have to fix one thing on it. like when you buy carpet cleaner or some thing and they say test first.
